Boditech Med Futsal Club - "We are Boditech Futsalers!"

At the beginning of 2010, we started as small club with several colleagues who love to play futsal. In 2014, Boditech Med established a futsal stadium for employee welfare, which is one of the key priorities at Boditech Med. Taking this opportunity, we officially registered our futsal club in 2014. Based on active support from the company, we are running our futsal club with 40 passionate members.

As mentioned above, we don’t need to take any transportations to get our futsal stadium as it is located in the company building. Before the COVID-19 pandemic happened, we usually play futsal at our futsal stadium for two or three hours every Tuesday after work. We are mainly focusing on learning the basic skills and tactics.

Futsal is an association football-based game played on a hard court smaller than a football pitch. Each team had five members and each team should score more goals than the opponent to win the game. It is undeniable that individual ability is important to play but we place importance on team play, organization, and creativity on offense. Our club is founded on mutual respect. We don’t blame anyone, even if any player makes a mistake during the game. We encourage them to play better. And one of advantages of our club is we provide a coaching session. Even if you are a beginner, you can enjoy playing futsal.

I would like to share a memorable story that I experienced with my club members. It has been two years ago. The heavy snowfall watch has been announced in Chuncheon. Our colleagues thought that we can’t play futsal. Guess what? We did. Our passionate members cleaned the snow altogether from the stadium. I can definitely tell you that it was the best fun game I ever played. Many members lost their balance as the ground was too slippery to play. This memory makes me laugh every time I think of it.

What we can learn from playing futsal is teamwork. Especially, we believe that communication is most important to play well. Each five player should keep talking how to move and how to play. That’s why we created a culture where feedback is the norm during the game and after the game. It was kind of hard to do it at first glance but once we got used it then our play has improved a lot.

I would like to ask a question. Do you like to play futsal? You better join us. We are always open to everyone. We open the book for membership every March or you can directly reach out to Woobin Eom for registration. We hope we can play with you soon then!
