'ichroma™ LDL Cholesterol Direct' measures cholesterol levels in your blood while cholesterol is the cause of major lifestyle diseases. There are three different types of cholesterol. High-density (HDL) cholesterol carries cholesterol from other parts of your body to your liver for processing and removal and is considered the “good” cholesterol. However, Low-density (LDL) cholesterol is known as the “bad” cholesterol because too much of it in your blood can lead to a buildup of plaque in your arteries, putting you at risk of heart disease, diabetes, or stroke. For this reason, elevated AST can reflect health conditions, including liver diseases like cirrhosis, hepatitis or liver damage from alcoholic liver disease.
